A Merry Little Christmas

Just a wee note to say Merry Christmas to everyone!
Hope Christmas time is treating you all well, and that you're going to stuff yourselves with yummy food (this is the one day of the year you're allowed to feel fat), and spend time with the ones you love! And don't forget the true meaning of Christmas, you should all know what I'm talking about, I hope. Christmas time is my favourite time of the year so enjoy it! Soak in any sun which is available. If you're where I am there might not be much, although lately I've seen beautiful sunny days and a few red people. I'll be seeing some of you very soon :D and I'm so excited! Miss you girls and boys!

Love, Me

Row row row your boat

gently down the Waihopai! Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily! We whipped the other team! Yes that's right, we smashed team KT, even with them attempting to sabotage us and cheating by running along the side of the river and getting in a good 20 metres ahead of us (twice!), we sailed past them. There was also, eggs, flour bombs, water bombs, rotten kiwifruit and a dead eel thrown by both teams and spectators. We got soaked, we got muddy and we stunk but it was awesome! Here's my team on the raft with chairs and the other team on the tyres.

In other news, I flew to Dunedin yesterday! A friend has his private plane licence so we clocked up a couple of hours flying there and back Sunday arvo. Good times! Apart from the fleeting 2 minutes where I felt like I was going to throw up. Someone needs the phone so can't write anymore....4 more days of work and counting...

Red

I'm bright red, I'm sneezing uncontrollably and I'm so happy :D Why, because I just played touch!! :D:D:D Yes I'm a touch fanatic as most of you know and I haven't played since the roadtrip! Felt soooo good, wasn't a great game......we got beaten, but I played touch, who cares :D. I did miss not having Joe on the opposing team though, the guy I was marking actually got past me for a try :P .
Other news....it's almost holidays! 6 working days, 8 whole days then 3 blissful weeks off :) And I'm going somewhere I've never been before, Kaitaia. Looking forward to sun and seeing friends. Tomorrow after work, I'll be dressed up as a cowgirl (along with 5 others), rafting down the Waihopai and getting flour bombs chucked at me, racing against another team. Will be interesting...the joys of getting involved in work team challenges! It's going to be awesome! Even the partners (the bosses at work) are coming along to watch haha. Go team SB!

That's about it for now,
Tootles!

2 things...

....to get off my mind.

1. Having Barbie, Winnie the Pooh and Spongebob on Christmas event calendars is outrageous! Over two lunchtimes I spent my time with two workmates searching Invers for a calendar with chocolates in them for our team at work. Eight shops later and we hadn't seen a single christmas tree, santa or cross on one. The only ones that existed had the above mentioned on them, and they weren't even in santa hats or anything!! Just said in the corner, "Christmas Event Calendar". I'm not amused. (we ended up with Spongebob)

2. All people at work talk about at the moment is, alcohol, getting drunk, alsohol, getting drunk oh and yes that's right getting drunk. I'd forgotten it's always the main topic of conversation at work. Extremely boring when you personally don't drink.

Now that's off my chest I feel light and free, thanks for putting up with my wee complain.

Cartwheels and Christmas

I got paid today, yus!! But they stuffed up my first pay and paid me double the amount I was supposed to get. Got me all excited and then I saw that and talk about bursting the bubble! Just as well I'm an honest person and fessed up! Not much to report at the moment really, I wake up, go to work, come home and then drive my self mad with having nothing to do! Even study looks good at the moment. My motto the other day was, no study, no mates, no life. Must've been having a down moment. That was inbetween running around the house, jumping on beds and couches and I think I may have even done a cartwheel on the grass outside....I won't say anymore.

On the up side I spread bit of Christmas spirit at work. I decorated this hideous Christmas tree in my team Apparently the tree is older than me. It's one those trees that's a stick with holes in it, and you put these branches that are silver and red tinsel into them. The branches are a straight piece of wire with tinsel over it. Mmmm yes it's as bad as it sounds!! The to top it off, the decorations are just about as old and none of them match, there's even purple bells. Sounds lovely huh! It's so bright and ahhh well a piece of art. On the other hand, I also put up the one at home and it's so preeeeetty.

Oh I'm looking at a car tomorrow too! I really like it, so hopefully it's as good as it looks. Fingers crossed! Here's hoping I have a car extremely soon. Well I need tea and a cookie, and I must say my big baby Tay (my cat for those who don't know) is looking so adorable at the moment asleep on the printer. Just had to get that small girl moment out.

Adios!

My world

Well I've left Dunedin, I've passed my exams, and I now have a BCom DipGrad, woop woop! I actually passed 5 stressful exams (to any others considering taking 5 papers at once , don't if you want a life), 1 which I was sure I'd failed but I guess study must've paid off...somehow! To my surprise I even managed my first and last A+....the paper it was: no comment! So hours spent in the library are over. I'll (surprisingly) actually miss it, especially the "group" study sessions, with 2 hour lunches and sudoku breaks. If I'm totally honest, I'll actually miss the learning side of things too. Being able to take some quite random papers turned out to be quite fun! Bit of spanish, maori, psyc, and sports psyc makes lectures (sometimes) interesting.
I did make the possible mistake of telling my boss I like learning new things and studying too, why oh why it popped out of my mouth I still don't know! Straight away he mentioned that they always need people like me to go to courses and then give feedback, including presentations to the other employees, woops!! Presentations eeeek! Ok so that said, I've started my job for at least the next two years. Got the handshake from the boss, told my degree was the best he's seen come through for a while (big self esteem boost, and yes my head may have expanded slightly!) . Ahhh earning money finally :D Works actually pretty good, and I've been there for a week. 1 week out of 45 years as some lovely people keep telling me! And only 3 more weeks until Christmas holidays yay! Then 3 weeks off, life is goooood.
Well before I started work, I went on a wee roadtrip from Invercargill to Wellington with some awesome people! It included Jacqui and I bungy jumping, seeing fellow CE's, luging, indoor rock climbing, getting lost in the puzzle world maze, Joe and Chris jumping off Cromwell bridge and touch rugby. Not to mention, rain, rain and more rain, packing the poor wee mazda everyday and then somehow fitting ourselves in. That mazda deserves a gold medal for what it went through. For me I loved seeing my wee girls Esther and Debbie in Greymouth, sooo cute. And amusing watching the boys interacting with a 2yr old and 6 month old. Joe the wee Dad :P Oops did I say that. There was also nightly games of 500, congrats to Chris who took it out on the tally board in the end. Next time, next time.... Oh I almost forgot! We went to Hanmer Springs! Did you know it's the n before the m? The pools were so nice and relaxing and there was sun! However, us girls being smarter put on sunscreen and didn't have to suffer for the next week from bright red sunburn, unlike 2 others. "Not bad for a girl" eh Chris! How's the peeling? :P Then I spent a few gurly days in Wellington with Jacqui. I loved it (shopping...drool.., tennis awesome, the company great.). Thanks heaps for the fun times Jacq! Well I'll put up photos sometime.
At the moment, I'm totally undecisive what to do for my holidays! 3 weeks off until Christmas next year and I really really really don't want to be in Invers for it. If anybody has any great suggestions contact me! On that note this post is getting a little longer than I expected but all good, I'll live with it. Bed time for me, I'm apparently a grown up now, so should have a grown up bedtime so I'm bright and chirpy for work tomorrow (I'm dreaming, like I'll ever go to bed early!).
Nuh night...BC

Newbie

There's a newbie in blog town. What this blog is going to contain, I'm not sure. Some updates, some pics, maybe even some creative writing, I shall see! It'll be a surprise and surprises are always the best. Since it's late and my brain is beginning to shut down for the night, this is just a quick note to say hello to anyone who reads this.

Random note, but I was informed that Brooke in predictive txt comes up with Arnold hmmm...

Night!
